Hand Lettering in Europe

Here are some photos of nice hand lettering that I noticed while I was in London and Scotland. The first goes in a more calligraphic style since it is an important document in Edinburgh, Scotland. I think this is so beautiful. The gold ink gives it a regal and elegant quality and the drop cap is beautiful. I wish more documents looked like this. There is also an embossed seal at the bottom of the document. Next I found some pillars in Scotland that caught my eye. I'm not sure what they say but the colors are nice and the words are pretty. The overall design does not work entirely because it is difficult to read the entire phrase without circling the pillar. The bottom photo is that of a sign in a pub in London. I liked that the white words are painted over a mirror and I think that the script is nicely done. It's an eye catching sign all around.
