Tea Type

This past week I ventured to the wonderful and magical world of Harrods. My mom has always spoke of Harrods and its grandiose scale of items and the look of every room. Each section of Harrods has its own design and style. The room I took the most pictures in was the tea, coffee, and chocolate room. What caught my eye was the Harrods packaging for the tea. They were promoting their special Anniversary tea as well as their seasonal Summer tea.

The look of the tea is elegant and expensive. The package is a tin box and uses mainly one color, purple, as the focus and compliments it with a gold frame around the type. The shiny gold makes the tea feel expensive and look like it belongs to royalty. The typography uses is a serifed font for the description paired with a nice script font that draws attention to the special "anniversary" aspect of it and uses a shade of purple to keep with the color theme. The design in the background of the golden

This is Harrods Summer tea. The repetition of the use of a golden frame for the typography as well as the same fonts makes it unmistakably a Harrods design. The background graphic is different this time, with mainly yellow as the prominent color but incorporates other pops of color for the butterflies. It looks inviting and happy, like summer should be.

This tea is not a Harrods brand tea and that is clear from the design. It uses a serif decorative font for the name of the tea and sticks to mainly 2 colors, red and gold. It is striking because of the bold color of red and the large type. The can that the tea comes in is very different than the other packaging of tea and for that reason it stands out from other teas. It still has a look of elegance and refinement that teas have but it achieves that in a bolder move.
