A Day at the V&A

This is Chris Martin from Coldplay's jacket. I recognized it as soon as I saw it and I thought it was cool that it was on display. It was in a section with other outfits worn by other artists like Sir Elton John and Mick Jagger.
Believe it or not this is also a display. At first I was very confused as to why an empty vending machine was in the museum but I soon realized that it was more than that. This vending machine actually contains DNA samples in each slot and it suggests that in the future this will be available for public consumption. This is frightening to think about and I think makes a statement on how far technology has come and will continue to go.

What I enjoyed the most was the Alexander McQueen exhibit. Although we weren't allowed to take photos inside, I loved seeing the beautiful clothes on display. His clothes are clearly meant to be seen as art and have a message in each garment. I liked that he focused on different types of Romanticism and that was his overall theme. My favorite room was the one with all the different garments and shoes and accessories that had the videos playing in the background. I thought that was smart to show the clothes on the runway since McQueen's shows were known for extravagance.
Also the V&A has very nice branding that I really like. It's classic but modern at the same time and has an elegance that the Victoria and Albert Museum carries as well.
